I usually don’t do a recap at the end of a year, but I figured it would be good for me to reflect on 2016. As I posted on Instagram today, the photo above perfectly represents my feelings of this past year. The blue vibes, the soft fog, the dark shadows, but also that light trying to shine through, the ups and downs of the mountains, and luckily also the calm and serenity of the water. 2016, you weren’t my greatest – you were definitely not the world’s greatest – but you sure as hell were interesting.
For those of you who don’t know, these past three months I have been struggling with a back injury (among other stuff) which has got me tied to my bed a lot. Lying in bed a lot equals thinking a lot. A lot a lot. Yes, there’s also a lot of Netflix involved. Anyway, it has made me realize that although this year surely wasn’t a walk in the park or a pick nick, there was also a lot of good. Great even. Perfect even.
And since this blog is basically my little piece of the internet, I’d like to reflect on this year with some of my favorite pictures of 2016. I have always been “into photography”, but this last year I’ve had so much fun with it and also learned so much while out exploring so much. I really tried to push myself out of my comfort zone this year. I have always been restless, and this year was absolutely no exception. And to be honest, I don’t think that will change anytime soon. This year will probably involve many life changing moments, and yes , also a lot of new adventures. So stay tuned for 2017, because I’m coming at ya with more!
Happy New Year everybody, let’s give ‘m hell this year!
