That’s right people. Our coast to coast USA campervan honeymoon road trip (try saying that three times really fast) is about to begin. Hallelujah. For those of you who don’t follow me on Instagram (what?!) and missed all my spam posts filled with my untamed excitement for this trip: our honeymoon is going to be an epic adventure. There I said it. Why you ask? Well my friends the time has come, to raise the roof and have some fun (sorry I got Lionel Richie stuck in my head), we are embarking on a trip that’s possibly on many bucket lists: a coast to coast USA road trip. YAY! Not only that, but we’re doing this road trip in yet another Escape Campervan which means cozying up at a campfire in the middle of nowhere and sleeping under the stars at night. What’s more romantic than that?

The concrete jungle
Our honeymoon adventure starts where it all began, New York City. Okay, our love story starts at Harvard of course, but one of the first weekends we went away together was a trip to NYC. And even more memorable: the first time we said “I love you” was on that trip. It was a super cute moment in our room at the W Hotel, with the morning sunlight shining in on our happy faces. Yes I know, oohs and aahs all around. And also, New York is the concrete jungle where dreams are made of so starting our trip in New York was a no-brainer.

On the road
After those first few days we pick up our campervan and hit the road, going West. For our crossover to the other side we have picked a few stops that just had to be on our list, including the Smoky Mountains (Indian Summer!), Nashville, Memphis, Route 66, Monument Valley, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Grand Canyon and Joshua Tree. From there it’s ultimate honeymoon chillaxing time since we’ll be spending a few days with my brother and his wife who live in always sunny San Diego. The final stop of our trip is LA, where we’ve rented an amazing place in Venice Beach and plan on exploring all the cool shops and cafes on Abbott Kinney Blvd. From LA it is back home to Amsterdam again, but we’re trying to ignore that fact as long as possible.
