Snapshots from Restaurant Choux

Choux Restaurant Amsterdam Food

This month marks our three year anniversary with our amazing apartment at the Oosterdokskade in Amsterdam. If you’ve had the pleasure of visiting our place you already know that #ourhouserules. And even though we absolutely love our place, the location can’t be beat and obviously we have the best view in all of Amsterdam, it was a pretty big adjustment moving here from the lovely and always gezellige Jordaan. We had our favorite bars, coffee places and restaurants, so moving to the crazy bustling tourist area of central Amsterdam was… Well, it was different. We had to explore a totally new hood, a hood that is largely focused on the large tourist groups that flock to downtown Amsterdam. Slowly we started to find our new favorite spots, and now we have a pretty decent list of our go-to places for food and drinks.

Anyway, long story short, we have a new restaurant in our hood – like walking distance from our home – and it’s downright amazing. It’s called Choux and it’s a new initiative from the guys behind two successful pop up restaurants at Felix Meritis in Amsterdam. I think Choux actually ties with wins from the two Michelin star restaurant in our street, &Samhoud Places. It is that good. And since last Tuesday marked our one-month wedding anniversary we thought we’d spoil ourselves with a 7-course tasting menu (€55) and some amazing wines. Truth be told, I was stuffed afterwards (or actually halfway there) but it was so worth it. You can also go for a 3-course (€31) or 4-course (€39) menu, and since the menu changes monthly there’s a very good reason to go back each month. The staff is very friendly, low-key though extremely knowledgeable which is a winning combo if you ask me. Take a look at these snapshots from our amazing first experience at Choux. I know you want to book a table right away, so go check out their website. Go, go, go!
